...instruments of mercy in the hand of God...
The Associates Program

The Associate family of the Daughters of Mary and Joseph are men and women who live the Gospel values with a focus on the unique spirituality common to the vowed members of the DMJs. Associate members regularly join with one another for meetings that include prayer and time to share. They are also invited to participate in various DMJ events, programs and celebrations.

Today, more than ever before, the crying needs of our world call us to be a sign of God's love and compassion. For many years, the Daughters of Mary and Joseph have dreamed of sharing their charism and mission with lay people. This dream is now a reality thanks to the pioneering efforts and participation of the current Associate members.

Current News

On the weekend of June 27-29, 2008, the Associates of the DMJs and the Associates of the Josephite priests came together for the first time at the Mary & Joseph Retreat Center for days of prayer and retreat. Led by Sr. Carol Quinlivan, CSJ, the theme for the retreat was "Homecoming: At Home With Ourselves and at Home With God." Sr. Carol, using a visual presentation of "Home", guided the retreatants towards an inner space where they spent time "sitting on the front porch of God's heart", allowing God to be an "insider" in their lives. Fr. Charles Hofschulte and Sr. Enda Creegan both expressed the desire to have both groups participate again next year for the annual retreat.
